The Big Day

Wright's Farm

The ceremony and reception will take place at Wright’s Farm, located in Gardiner, New York, just 6 miles from New Paltz, New York, which is 90 miles north of New York.

Why Here?

Soon after our engagement last summer, we took the train out to Long Island to celebrate over pie and coffee with Matt’s Nana and PopPop. Nana suggested, why not get married at Michael Boylan’s apple farm?

Michael Boylan is cousin to Pam Heering, Matt’s mom; Matt had met him years before as a kid. So sure enough, we sent Michael and his wife Tammy this photo, asked to come visit, and they welcomed us with open arms!

It turns out that in addition to running an unbelievably impressive 500 acre working farm and an annual Cupcake Festival, Michael and Tammy have recently turned one of the most beautiful spots on the farm into an event space.

We won’t ruin it for you, but the views are breathtaking.

By the way, apple season will be in full swing so be sure to make some time to “Pick Your Own” apples on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. At that time, Macintosh, Cortland, & Empire varieties should be in season and ready to pick. (Possibly even Golden Delicious, Red Delicious, and Macouns.) You’re welcome to pack a picnic or go for a hike. Full details can be found on the Wright’s Farm website here: http://www.eatapples.com/pick.html

Ceremony

The ceremony will begin at 4:00 p.m. and be followed by a cocktail hour (both outdoor) and a seated dinner and dancing (both under a spacious tent.)

What to wear, you’d like to know? We’d love to see your finery, but choose something comfortable. Flats or wedge sandals or shoes are much more practical than heels, which will sink into the grass (it will also be grassy under the tent, except for the dance floor). Mid-September can be sweltering or chilly, so be sure to watch the weather and pack a sweater if necessary.
